Today we Skyped with Brooke and family. It was great to get to see her newest, adorable addition and say hello to the rest of the fam. Brooke's daughter is named Evie and, though she and Jack have seen each other several times before, neither of them remembered it. Jack asked who she was. I pointed and said, "Can you say 'Hi, Evie'?" He replied, "Dat's not da TV. DAT'S da TV!" (pointing to the television). After further explanation and practice, he figured it out.

Dani showed off her blabbermouth tendencies on Skype. She's a feisty little thing--she repeatedly goes after things that Jack has that she wants--and she is NOT shy. I put her face up to the computer screen and she just started squawking away. "BAH-BAH-BAH-BAH!" she excitedly screamed. She actually does this thing with her mouth when she says "bah" where the corners turn down and her eyes get all big. She looks like an angry, rabid baby when she is actually really happy and excited. She actually kinda looks like Chucky. I hope that changes but for now, it's fairly amusing.

Later in the conversation, I was talking about kids learning the alphabet. Jack has always been very observant and focused and loves to learn. He really loves books and letters and learned his A-B-Cs very early. I was telling Brooke a story related to it and mentioned, "Jack's a bit of a nerd with that stuff. . . " From the corner, I heard Jack yell, "I'm a nerd!" Lovely.
